Master Gardener Roger Marshall has been gardening for more than 40 years, at first in England and later after moving to America. He has written eighteen books, some of which have been translated into Spanish, Italian and Croatian. His book ‘How to Build Your Own Greenhouse.’ Now has almost 50,000 copies in print. He owns two 300 square foot greenhouses and grows year-round. In the heated greenhouse he has his own organic hydroponic system that has the capability of growing up 30 heads of lettuce each week. (This keeps the neighborhood rabbits fat and happy!) Rather than eat lettuce, the system allows him to grow beans and peas, kale, and other leafy greens, along side peppers and tomatoes. Last year his last greenhouse tomato was harvested on February 24th!
