How Green is Your Garden: Watershed Impacts of Traditional Gardening Practices

The pervasive use of chemicals such as fertilizers and pesticides in gardens continue to serve as an uncontrolled source of pollution within watersheds throughout the United States. This presentation will explore several consequences of utilizing such chemicals and offer alternatives to minimize and/or mitigate these chemicals from reaching beyond the limits of your garden.

Andrew is joining us on behalf of SPLASH, located on the Delaware River in Lambertville, NJ. He has a passion for protecting the environment, with interests spanning from collecting plankton and water samples from the Raritan Estuary, remediating chemically contaminated sites within New Jersey with his work at Langan Engineering & Environmental Services, to teaching kids about the importance of STEAM education through hands-on learning aboard the SPLASH Steamboat.
