Erin McCool & Michael Barcus

Erin McCool joined Riverbend in 2016 with 17 years of experience facilitating, designing and leading environmental education programs. Through her leadership, Riverbend is expanding and deepening our educational impact, with focused growth in the Building STEM skills through Aquaponics and Philadelphia Children Access Nature programs. Erin holds a Bachelors of Science in Biology from Salisbury University in MD and a Graduate Certificate in Environmental Communications from Duke University. She is currently pursuing her Masters of Environmental Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. Michael Barcus Since 2015 Mike has been managing our aquaponics greenhouse in addition to playing an active role in developing our award-winning school aquaponics program. An avid fisherman, outdoorsman and environmentalist, Mike’s focus is on creating a more sustainable future, especially when it comes to the proliferation of regenerative agricultural practices, energy production and clean water. He holds a BA from the University of Maryland, a Commercial Aquaponics Certification from Green Acre Aquaponics and a Permaculture Design Certification from Susquehanna Permaculture.
