It’s so exciting bringing home a new plant, but what happens once you have it in a pot or in the ground and it starts to look… not so great? In this session, we’ll go over what the plant is trying to tell you when it starts looking sick, from stress problems to diseases, insects, and more.

Meg McConnell is the Diagnostic Services Manager at the Bartlett Tree Research Laboratory in Charlotte, NC. Looking at fungal spores under the microscope sparked her interest in plant diseases and diagnostics in general. Meg has a Bachelor of Science in Plant, Soil, and Insect Sciences from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, as well as a Master of Science in Plant Science (Forest Pathology) from the University of Maryland. Her favorite aspects of her job are solving diagnostic mysteries and teaching others about plant health problems.
